On September 13, 2023, a Regional Symposium titled "World Sepsis Day 2023" was held at Hotel M in Belgrade, organized by the Association for Continuous Medical Education and the Association of Anesthesiologists and Intensive Care Physicians of Serbia (UAIS).

The expert gathering was attended by over 250 eminent specialists in nephrology, anesthesia, and intensive care, led by Professor Dr. Nebojša Lađević (UKCS), Professor Dr. Radmila Janković (Clinical Center Niš and President of UAIS), and Assistant Professor Dr. Dejan Marković (UKCS).

At this symposium, our company Marlo Medic delivered a commercial lecture titled "Plasma Filtration and Adsorption as Therapeutic Options in Sepsis Treatment," showcasing the successful application of our advanced Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) device - Amplya.

Earlier this year, the Government of the United Arab Emirates donated 100 Amplya devices, manufactured by Bellco (Medtronic), to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia. The Ministry of Health recognized the importance of implementing these devices in intensive care units across the country to elevate the level and quality of patient care and improve survival rates in accordance with the highest standards. Marlo Medic successfully distributes, implements devices, and provides training to medical staff for the use of Amplya.

Sepsis represents a life-threatening condition and is the leading cause of death in all countries worldwide. It is estimated to affect between 47 and 50 million people annually, with at least eleven million deaths occurring each year as a result of sepsis.
