First Surgeries Using the Litho Evo Urological Laser at the General Hospital in Bor

At the General Hospital in Bor, the first kidney stone fragmentation surgeries were successfully performed using the state-of-the-art Litho Evo 35W urological laser, which was installed at the end of last year. The Litho Evo 35W, manufactured by Quanta System and distributed in Serbia by Marlo Medic, is an advanced medical device that enables minimally invasive procedures, reduces surgery duration, and significantly speeds up patient recovery.

The initial procedures were carried out by experts from the Military Medical Academy, Prim. Dr. Mirko Jovanović and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Dejan Simić, together with the urology department doctors at the General Hospital in Bor. Dr. Vidoje Radosavljević, head of the urology department, emphasized the great importance of this device for patients in the region.

The advantages of this new method were also highlighted by Prim. Dr. Mirko Jovanović, a urologist from the Military Medical Academy:

"With this device and using this technique and method—flexible laser lithotripsy—it is possible to completely eliminate and cure the patient of any stone located in the bladder, urinary tract, or kidney. This instrument allows access to every part of the kidney, ensuring complete stone fragmentation. Until now, such a device was available in only three public hospitals, leading to long waiting lists, so having this laser in Bor is a major advancement."
