Marlo Medic is responsible, as the data controller, for the personal data processed through marlomedic.com. We process it in line with the Law on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), only for specific and lawful purposes, and never further in a way that does not fit the purpose it was collected for.

We don’t collect personal data unless you give it to us, the law requires it or we have a legitimate business interest in it. In practice that means two things.

When you contact us

The contact form asks for your first and last name (so we know who is writing), your e-mail address (so we can reply), and the message itself. Your phone number and company are optional; give them if you would like us to call you or to know which institution you represent. We receive the same kind of information when you write to or call one of our offices directly.

Please don’t send us patient information or other health data. We don’t need it to answer an enquiry, and the form is not meant for it.

When you browse the site

Like every website, ours receives the technical data your browser sends with each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and the date and time. Our hosting provider uses it to deliver the pages and to protect the site against abuse. It is kept in short-lived server logs and is not used to identify you or build a profile of you.

We also count visits, to see which pages are read and how quickly they load, with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They record the page, the page you came from, your country, your browser, operating system and device type, and loading times. They don’t use cookies or keep your IP address: to tell visits apart, they derive a code from the request that is discarded after 24 hours. We see only totals, never individual visitors.

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, often used to remember settings, measure visits or show targeted advertising.

This website doesn’t set cookies when you browse it. There are no analytics or advertising cookies and no third-party trackers: the visit statistics described above work without cookies, and our fonts and images are served from our own servers. That is why you won’t see a cookie banner.

If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before setting them.

• To answer your enquiry and handle any discussion that follows. We rely on your consent, given when you send us a message, and on taking steps you ask for before a possible contract.
• To run the website securely, keeping it available and protected against misuse. This is our legitimate interest.
• To improve the website, using anonymous visit statistics to see which pages are useful and how fast they load. This is our legitimate interest.
• To meet our legal obligations, for example keeping business records the law requires.

We don’t use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we don’t add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.

Only Marlo Medic employees who need your data to handle your enquiry can see it, and only as far as that task requires. Updating or deleting it is limited to the staff whose role includes it.

We also use service providers that process data on our behalf, such as our website hosting, analytics and e-mail providers. They are bound by contract to use it only on our instructions and only as far as needed to provide their service. We disclose data to public authorities only where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data.

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Its pages are delivered from the server nearest to you, and the code that handles the contact form runs in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The news is stored by Railway Corporation on servers in the EU (the Netherlands). Under Serbian law, the member states of the EU provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.

Where data has to be transferred to a country without an adequate level of protection, we do so only with the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to handle any business that follows. If the enquiry leads to a contract, the related records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business documents.

Server logs are deleted automatically after a short period. Once data is no longer needed, we delete it, unless you have agreed that we may keep it.

Taking into account current technology, the cost of implementation and the risks to your rights, we apply appropriate technical, organisational and personnel measures to protect your data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. The site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access is limited to the people who need it, our systems are protected by antivirus and other security tools, and we check regularly that these measures work as intended.

You have the right to:

• know whether we process your data and, if so, which data, why, who receives it and how long we keep it;
• get a copy of your data;
• have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed;
• have your data deleted;
• have the processing restricted;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
• receive the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time, which doesn’t affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, write to us at office@marlomedic.com or use the other details above. We will reply within 30 days. The first copy of your data is free; for additional copies we may charge the necessary costs of preparing them. If you ask electronically, we will reply in a common electronic format.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection in Serbia or, if you live in the EU, with the data protection authority in your country.

This policy covers marlomedic.com only. Our pages link to other websites, such as our LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook profiles, our partners’ sites and Google Maps. Those sites may collect data about you, set cookies and track your activity under their own policies, especially if you are signed in to them, so please read their privacy policies as well.

We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date it last changed at the top. Our terms of use cover the rest of your use of the site.
